Shipping policy

Our store ships your order from our Atelier in Hokkaido, Japan, and offers shipping within Japan as well as International shipping. All the shipping methods we use offer a tracking number.

If your country is not yet listed in the shipping options at checkout, please contact us at info@atelieryumika.com.
We currently do not offer shipping to the United States of America. But please be sure that we are working on a solution to be able to offer it quickly! Thank you for your understanding.

Within Japan, we offer free Standard delivery for orders of ¥18,000 and up. Otherwise, we offer different rates according to the size and weight of your order:

Rates with Japan Post:
Yû-Packet: Flat rate of ¥360 throughout Japan;
Letter Pack Plus (with signature): Flat rate of ¥600 throughout Japan;
Letter Pack Light: Flat rate of ¥430 throughout Japan.

Rates with Kuroneko Yamato (Ta-Q-Bin): 
Within Hokkaido: ¥940;
For the Tohoku region: ¥1320;
For the Kanto region: ¥1460;
For the Chubu region: ¥1610;
For the Kansai, Chugoku, Shikoku and Kyushu regions: ¥2340;
For Okinawa: ¥2340.

 

For International shipping, we offer different rates depending on the region where you live.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your order might be subjected to import taxes and duties upon arrival in your country.

For customers in the European Union: from July 1, 2026, a flat fee of 3€ per item category (= per HS code) in the parcel will be applied to all e-commerce parcels under 150€ coming from outside of the UE.
You will also have to pay the VAT on importation at the same time, calculated on the total value of the parcel, including the shipping fees.

BIG UPDATE: From August 12, 2026, the EU is enforcing new regulations about packaging and waste. These regulations are complex, but they force business owners sending parcels to the EU to adhere to an eco-organism and to designate a legal agent in each country they sell and send parcels to. This costs different amounts of money depending on the country, generally amounting to a few hundred euros per country.
As a very small business, Atelier Yumika is not capable of paying these new fees. Therefore, we will only ship to France and Belgium for the moment, as we wait for updates on the matter. Thank you for your understanding.

For customers in the United Kingdom, if your order is worth less than £135, then you shouldn’t have to pay any import duties.

For customers residing elsewhere, I invite you to check with your local authorities directly.

Be aware that if you refuse to pay those import taxes and duties, your order will be returned to Japan and won't be either shipping again or reimbursed to you. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Europe = France & Belgium only for the moment (see the BIG UPDATE section above):
- Regular Shipping: €15, International ePacket Light (~10-15 business days);
- Express Shipping: €30, EMS (~7 business days).

—> We offer Free Regular Shipping on orders of €200 and up.

United Kingdom:
- Regular Shipping: £12, International ePacket Light (~10-15 business days);
- Express Shipping: £24, EMS (~7 business days).

—> We offer Free Regular Shipping on orders of £170 and up.

United States:

We are now sending to the United States, after finally figuring out a way to be in compliance with the import duties and taxes.
We will ship using Japan Post, with DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) only, as follows:
- Standard Shipping: $20-25 (depending on weight), International ePacket Light (10-15 business days);
- Express Shipping: $30-35 (depending on weight), EMS (7-10 business days).

Duties will be displayed at check-out as a separate line so that you can easily see what we will have to pay for your order as we send it.
Using DDP, you will NOT have to pay additional duties and taxes as your parcel enters the country.

Asia, Oceania and Canada = Australia, Canada, Hong Kong SAR, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Cyprus, China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam:
- Regular Shipping: $20-25, International ePacket Light (10-15 business days);
- Express Shipping: $30-35, EMS (~7 business days).


Central/South America = Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela:
- Regular Shipping: $20, International ePacket Light (15-20 business days);
- Express Shipping: $35, EMS (~10 business days).
